A white render and glass extension to the rear of a Victorian property in Stourbridge has successfully fused contemporary and traditional styles.
The extension consists of a spacious reception room and master bedroom with en suite facilities.The double height glass facade allows maximum light into the interior and creates a seamless transition between inside and outside spaces.
Khoury Architects focused on a sustainable design and specified non-toxic building materials, recycled insulation and low emissions glass that allows the sunlight to heat the new extension and also retain the warmth. A new central heating system has been installed throughout the house that uses solar power and an innovative arrangement of water store and heat exchangers, increasing water heating efficiency by up to 55%.
