Andrew is the Founder and Managing Director of Khoury Architects. He is driven by the belief that high quality and sustainable design is imperative to our built environment.
He has an exceptional capability to resolve complex design issues with logical and sensitive architectural solutions. As a result, Khoury Architects won the Local Authority Building Control Award in 2018 for Best Individual New Home as well as 2 RIBA Awards in 2016, both of them for Chattock Gardens. One of these was Project Architect of the Year which he was awarded thanks to the positive relationship he developed with the client, developer and contractor. His determination, enthusiasm and confidence to re-write the client brief carried the scheme through a tricky planning process to become highly accomplished, sustainable and with the perfect balance of opportunity cost. He has a growing portfolio of timeless and inspirational work.
After graduating from Cardiff University’s Welsh School of Architecture in 1997, Andrew spent five years working in London. During this period, he gained diverse and extensive experience in the management and delivery of architectural projects including “The Exchange” for Jones Lang Lasalle which was within the Times/Gestetner top 100 New Office Environments. He then moved to Birmingham with a view to establishing Khoury Architects which he did in 2005.
